8.75 rear end to much play

8.75 rear end open the wheel turns 4 -5 inches back and fourth before anything ingauges . i had it out everything looked good no marks on any gears no play to speak of by turning shaft back and fourth .thanks for any help .i got a seized one from a buddy and pulled it apart to see how they work

I may not be following but 4-5 inches from the outside of the tire sounds like inside the carrier. Probably spider gears.
