Gas prices don't bother me, when its for a show worth attending. The Mopar Nationals is nothing more than a name now. The show has been going down hill in my opinion over the past 10 years. The last 3 years I went solely for the name sake, and that I had only missed 2 since its inception.
I agree this is the sorriest show I have ever been too not organized at all. I went the other year for first time. I got there at 9;30 on Fri morn and drove through and there was no where to park for all the mini vans and stock beat up dodge trucks that bought show spaces that they sent me out to the parking lot to park with the spectators. I went too complane and they told me that was normal? most people that get there late have to park out there?. They said if you want a good spot come in on thur morning early and leave your car and don't drive it all weekend.  So I got there at 7;30 sat morn and got in but got to park beside 7 99 up mini vans and a few beat up dodge trucks and there was even a Chevy caviler near me with a show sticker? I did enjoy Brice road very much but I hear they are trying to put a stop to that also!!!

Was that you '87 Caravan with the woodgrain panels overheating on Brice Rd. that caused the huge traffic jam on the way out on Friday night?   :D

Where's you pics Ghoste?

Ghoste

Friday night my 67 Charger was likely parked outside Hooters.  For the most part I avoid Brice Road.
Pics?  Too old school I know, but I shot 7 rolls of film and haven't taken them in yet.  I have been chastised about going not going digital and I will get around to it eventually.

69_500

I was thinking of going over for just sunday just to meet Ghoste and hang out for the day talking 500's and such, but figured I'll run into him at another show one of these days.

What other big show do you attend. I'll catch ya at one of those.

3.  Building a Charger

It's only 9 hours away for me, I can drive that no problem, just don't the spare $$ to fund another trip with a vacation week coming the end of the month.

So tell us what you thought about the weekend - was it worth it?

What did you like or dislike?

Ghoste

I've been going since the first one so it's as much a big stupid party for me as anything else.  A buddy and I go each year and it's our version of deer hunting or an annual fishing expedition.  That is probably why I alway have a good time at the Nats, I have no expectations beyond meeting my friends and hanging out.  There are a group of guys from different areas of the US and Canada that I only see once a year and that is where.  I'm not naive enough to try and convince anyone that the show is without flaws but my attendance is for different reasons than most.
Now as for which other shows I attend, the rest are a little more haphazard although I think I am going to start trying to make Carlisle a regular thing.  I was going to try and make it this year but I had some other previous plans which over-ruled it.   471 Magnum and I are probably going to make some parts of the Power Tour for next year as well.  For me, I'm thinking the Cleveland to Kalamazoo leg.

Met couple into 3 somes that live in Columbus. You think I won't be there next year. THINK AGAIN!! I might even make the Chrysler Classic in May now that a met a new pair of friends. ;)
