No...not on the outside of the car...only the "VIN" would tell you....other than looking at it's taillights get smaller in front of you....

Except for a few good background shots you all but missed the TT1 Green "XS29L" Stock Charger parked next to the Yellow "XP29H" car entered in the show as a stock "XS29L" car.

Yes it certainly was very cold, windy and rainy so you are forgiven.

Hello Dan,

Thanks for the pictures.  It looks like there were rain drops on the car and your camera lens.  Oh well, the price of living in the Northwest.

You know, that "IDEAL" Charger makes me want to give up keeping my Charger stock.  However, what would it cost to build a car like that?

So nice to see awards going to someone who did nothing to bring there car up to show quality besides winning it scott free or buying it brand new    while the rest of us are pouring our heart, sole and bank accounts into our cars.

Oh well. I guess it still was pretty to look at regardless.

Sorry I missed the show guys. I made a call on Friday on wether or not to attend the show based on the weather mans reports for Sunday and like usual he was basically wrong and I probably could have brought the car. I was there as a spectator and it really wasnt that bad.
Oh well. I'll hopefully see some of you all at the Cruise on Colby in Everett, Wa on Momorial day k.

Maybe all car shows should have two classes for each existing class?   :shruggy:

One for the guy that had the passion and built the car himself and the other for the guy that had enough money to have someone build the car for him.

FastbackJon

Here's one I looked at on the way to the show.

Thanks for the photos. Mark

    heh, funny.

This '68 looked nice with new paint, and when it drove out of the college it sure sounded good.  Don't know who's car this is.   Then there was the custom '69's, as seen earlier in thread, they got some looks.

And a little bad news about the show.  I just got this email from a friend in another car club:

received this e-mail from one of our All Around Mopars members -- this is a good reminder, even for you Chevy and Ford fanatics, or whatever you may drive....

Dear Fellow Mopar Maniacs:

I have a tail to tell concerning my drive home from the Spring Roundup.  Just after Scott Star and I parted ways on I-90, I came across one of the other cars from the show off to the side of the road with the hood up and passenger door open.  It was the 1967 Charger (white with a 383) that took first place in his class at the show.  I thought he might need some help.  Boy did he ever.  The wiring harness under his dash was melting, burning, smoking and he was on his back sticking his bare hands up under the dash to try and get it out (he had wisely already disconnected the battery).  But he had no fire extinguisher.  Smoke was coming out from the hole in the firewall where the wiring bulkhead was melted down and falling into the engine compartment.  I got him my little show fire extinguisher and it was able to get it all put out with no problem.

This guy could have lost his whole car.  Please, if you don't already have one, BUY A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT IT IN YOUR CAR.  They make nice little chrome ones that spew power that is good for electrical, and fuel fires and easy to clean up after, and they cost less than $50.  Don't take a chance with your car, all your work, and maybe your health and life.  Feel free to share this far and wide.  It was a real eye opener for me.

Cool pics.  Looks like nice show.   Too far for me tho  :icon_smile_big:

That black/silver 69 Charger looks like one directly from a set of 2 diecast cars  I saw at the swap at Rhinebeck last weekend.   The other car in the set was a Cuda.   I can't recall many other specifics except I picked up the large box and looked at it and saw it was 2 tone and said to myself... "well that's just dumb" and put it down.     Maybe it was an Ideal set of some sort (referring to the front plate)  ???

i have fire extinguishers everywhere.  my 55 chevy planted right next to the shifter.  my 69, my garage, my bedroom(i'm a smoker), my bathroom(i'm half mexican) you name it they are there. walmart has a ton for cheap!!!
i've seen some fire in the navy and the fallout ain't pretty!
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

FastbackJon

That white '66 Charger is Paul's. He's a heck of a nice guy, I hate to hear that that happened to him.

About the show, I was suprised at how many flyers were jammed under each cars windshield. Who are these people that think they can just go around and touch other people's cars? If you want to hand out a flyer, hand it out to a person, ask them if they want it, don't just throw it on the seat or jam it under the windshield wiper.

The other thing I was suprised at at the show was the amount of second generation Chargers there with the rear window defroster. There were like 3 or 4 in a row that had it.

Dan, thanks for the pics. I really like that Go-Mango '70 with the K4 interior. Word on the street (actually Barry Washington), is that there was a Hang 10 on the scene. Do you have any pics of that you could send me? I am shocked my pal Mike didn't tell me about it or take pics of it. I guess he was too busy shining up the Hemi.  ;D He needs a  :slap: for not telling me about that Hang 10.  :icon_smile_wink:

Chargers (especially hemi charger) are just damn cool as is. They don't need custimization.

His car was away from most all the Chargers because he got put in the Hemi section,   :rotz:   but here is a pic from last year's D-C.com meet, before the new Hemi got put in that is pictured above.   :icon_smile_cool:

Ah crap, sorry Chris!  Honestly, I didn't look at hardly any of the cars.  Thanks Barry!!! :icon_smile_big:  The hills were just too much for me.  If it's flat, I can wheel all day long.  I made the swap meet, but it was way more manageable.  I could have brought my handles so my buddies could help push me, but that means I would have had to swallow my pride.  I start getting steroid treatments for the protruding disc in my back that they finally found.  I'm gonna start working out again, only it will be just my upper body.  I talked to Barry B. about which muscles to work.    If I'm lucky enuf to get some bulk, I'll tear those hills up next year!

------------------------

Lizard, even tho it's not entirely directed towards me, I'm flattered.   Remember me crying about the rain a few months back and how I'd never drive my car in the rain up there anymore?  :rotz: I wanted to come up for the Charger Anniversary and park by my Charger buddies.  Instead it rained from Portland to north of Longview and then pretty much all the way home.   And to top it off, I had to park by all the primadonna Hemi owners.   :o :icon_smile_big:  jk.  Hemi Jack was a real pleasure talking to.  Maybe one of these days a "few" other Seattle gearheads will decide to talk to me.  :-X

---------------------------

SCD, a pleasure to get to talk to you outside of here again.  I took zero pix of my car and it seems I can always count on you and Dan.  You bailed me out at the Charger Meet too, thanks.  If you don't have your rig there this year and wanna do the cruise afterwards again, I should have a empty seat.  I'll see if I can give you whiplash.  Saturday, my daughter told me I hurt head when I nailed it one time, hehe.

---------------------------

It wasn't long ago that peeps didn't like the big wheel, rubber band tire look.  Now it seems to be a hit?   That car will be a tough act to follow.

mopargirl72

Hey, that black and silver 69 Charger I got to fire up!  The owner is a really good family friend.  He was so lucky to win that car...I'm jealous.  I tried to get him to give it to me, but yeah...not gonna happen.  I'll get to drive it every now and then though!  Maybe even drag race it!

Darkness

Sweet cars. I like the black and silver Charger. It's different for sure and glad you got to sit in it and start it up. He got lucky with winning that car for sure. I'm jealous too but, what can you do other than to hope you'll win the lottery or a Viper.

Brock Samson

O.K. so noone knows how or why or from whom he won that charger?..
It burns my ass i spent a fortune and nearly two decades bringing mine back from the crusher and this guy gets handed the keys to a done car...  :flame:

SeattleCharger

I heard that he won it from a bottle cap on a pop or something, but don't know for sure if that is how he won it, harsh, huh.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

mopargirl72

He won the Charger through a contest from the company he works for.  He, along with 5 others, won a trip to Las Vegas (where the car was being shown) and also handed a key...Only one of the keys started the car and he was the first one to go up and try his key and it fired right up!  I am very happy for him and his family.  He deserves it as much as anyone here.

8WHEELER

If I won it I would keep it   :2thumbs:

I wanted to talk to him, I was done taking most of the pictures at 11:30, went to the car and he was
talking to two other people, I waited 5-10min and they were still talking, I took off for the ''swap meet''
and never saw him again  :rotz:

Dan
74 Dart Sport 360, just for added fun.

Brock Samson

im not sure i agree with that but i'll let it pass....

SeattleCharger

At least he brought it to the show, you know, getting into the Mopar enthusiast thing, driving the car, keeping it looking nice, taking care of it, shows he cares about the car and likes it, and likes Mopars.   If I saw a tricked out Charger as a prize, and walked up and filled out an entry form thing, I would really hope to win the car, and if I did, I would take the car, now I realize I would take crap for it, who wouldn't want to win that car?   :icon_smile_cool:
If I won the lotto, and bought a Charger, that would be similar I guess.  But that's what I would do.  Winning the lotto or awesome prizes probably has down sides.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Brock Samson

yeah but you loved chargers before you entered the contest...
i guess it's my problem, not his.. i should be happy for him.
if he appreciates it more power to him, at least he aint sellin it on e-bay to buy a Ravfour...

Darkness

Here's the point you're missing Harvey. Even though it's somewhat bling, bling it's still a 69 Charger and a pretty nice looking one at that. Heck, I don't have any problems driving it.

Brock Samson

Bling, Stock, Whatever.. I didn't miss any point, Buit you'll nebver drive it so stick a fork in it,.. I'm done.
I sincerly hope he shows up here so we can welcome him to the eternal brotherhood of whatever the heck we are...   :icon_smile_wink:
If he didn't like Chargers or Mopars before, you know he sure as heck does now.

Darkness

As for driving the car, who said I would actually get to drive it? All I'm saying is that I would drive if I owned it. As for sticking a fork in it, that's funny.
