What to check when buying a used distributor?

Hi All
I may be buying a used distributor this weekend. The seller states it is a RTR (ready to run) out of a 440. I am fairly certain that the 383 one is the same. What should I check for? I have never had to replace a distributor before but this one looks like a real good deal. 2 good caps and outside looks real nice for $50.

440 one is longer and won't work in a low deck engine.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............
