For a stock 440, to test fuel flow from the pump, how many seconds should it take to reach what volume?  Im able to find specs for engines that are raced where its like 35 seconds to fill one gallon but I believe there is a spec for something like a 5 or 10 second flow into a measured container is there not?  I do see one in the fsm where it should fill a quart in one minute at 500 rpm but I thought there was another test?

I think it's easier and more telling if you put a pressure gauge in where you can read it while driving. 4 psi at wot and your fine.

500" NA, Eddy head, pump gas, exhaust manifold with 2 1/2 exhaust with tailpipes
4150 lbs with driver, 3.23 gear, stock converter
11.68 @ 120.2 mph

Most pumps do not fail at idle, its under full load. Not sure how you would test flow under full load demand on a diy setup effectively. Pressure readings will give you the answer as russ stated. And be sure to run it to through the gears. My stock pumps/ linew would typically run out of steam at the top of 2nd gear.

Tee a small copper line into delivery side of the pump . Put a 0-15 # gauge at the end . Gorilla tape to wiper  arm.  Drive WOT 0 to 100 mph (160 KPH for you)  Four or more psi during the run, you are ready for a Nascar track.   :smilielol:
