A charger that has skinny tires on the back only make it look like fat chic w/short legs! Fat tires is where its at IMO.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

mikesbbody

fatties all the way  :2thumbs: skinneys just dont look right! gotta have that fat ass  :icon_smile_big:

UFO

I like option three, Have two cars.
Only problem with the skinny tires is when you combine 3800 lbs+big brakes+contact patch the size of your hand= Hang on tight or pay attention to whats in front of you.

sick dawg

I'm middle of the road, I like them big. Not too big. I've got 275-60's on the back of my two second gens. Nice medium between size, not too big and not to skinny

I say wall to wall rubber, baby!!! 275 60 15's rear, 255 60 15's front, all four wrapped around 8 1/2 inches of aluminum!!!!

how do you keep those 15x8.5's from rubbin in the front? the stance looks pretty good and you ain't got any problems???

There were two points of contact that I had to address on the front. First, the front lip of the wheel opening at the very bottom would get contacted by the outer edge of the tire on turns. Solution: gently curl the first inch or so  of lip inward with a pair of needle nose pliers and trim the wheel opening molding that goes there. Just curl the lip, not the fender!!! And only trim the lip on the wheel opening molding, not the part that shows in the outside of the fender!!!  Secondly, the tire would just graze the inner fender brace on severe road undulations at speed when someone was riding shotgun. Solution: buzz the fender brace about an inch from the fender, bend the inch of brace  left on the fender up slightly and  add approx 1 1/2 inces to the brace itself and reweld, thereby increasing the arc. No problems since. The fender lip mod is is done in such a way as to be pretty much undetectable and the fender brace mod is invisble. I would never have altered the car in a highly visible manner, but I think the muscular look of the end product justified the actions taken to make it possible. Of course, I could have just run a smaller tire....naaaaah!!!

I Love that car...any more pics of it??
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...

Definitly fatty.
Ive helped my dad with restoring E-types...so today I cant stand when I see tires "sitting in the middle of the car".  :eek2:

Here are my skinny tires.  :coolgleamA:

F70-14 bias ply redlines all the way around.

If I could swing it I'd have a set of 15 ich redline bias plys all the way around.

Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

I'm split on this one. I prefer the origional red lines on my car to be quite honest. But I do have to admit that the 10" wide rear tires do look pretty sweet and look like they belong on a Charger.

Finally got the Charger started this spring, so I had to run out and get my new tires mounted on the wheels. 15 inch steel wheels gotten on the cheap thanks to a DodgeCharger.com member, and a 275$ set of Firestone Redlines that I picked up at the first swap meet of the year in Lincoln NE. Found them at the third table in. Had to carry them the half mile back to the truck. They look much lighter laying there on the ground. Hopefully have them on the car tomorrow.

I always thought, in the old sizing style, that G60s were so perfect in so many applications.

To me, the stock thin wheels did not work with the bulging fender flares of the 68-70.  I don't like them too fat like the first few pics though, too much.

Do I have the last, operational Popcar Spacemobile?

I like them with both for some reason but, I rock the fatties.  :musik010:
