Not the best pics, they're from my phone, and I didn't have time to get the wheels and tires cleaned up or painted. It was getting mighty cold and windy here. Hopefully this weekend they'll be looking better.

here is mine. 325 50 15's out back.

That stance looks great!
I assume you have a 10 inch rim, but what is your backspacing? Have you done any modifications, to lip, springs etc??

So many people that used to post.... :bawling:

I only run 255\60\15 out back but that is due to the height of the 295\50\15 as it is too short for the 4.10 gears.

Having grown up with these cars, I lived through the era of both examples.  No question, those big wheelwells look a bit empty with less than G60s in them. Past mopar muscle examples I've owned (Roadrunner, SuperBee, R/T Coronet) all got the "fatty" treatment when affordable.   My current situation hasn't allowed me to play much on this subject, but for the purposes of "protecting the investment" I'm considering replacing the current stock (and somewhat tired)14x7-inch Magnum 500s with newer versions and new rubber.  When I was running G60s in my youth, air shocks were almost always necessary to eliminate rubbing in the wheelwell.  Does anybody have a sense of just how much tire can be used before suspention modificatons have to be made?  Say, if one were to get the newer 14x8 Magnum 500 rims on the back and go with a modern (metric) varient of the 60s series tire, could you get the "look" w/o all of the mods?

Though not a Charger, I thought this looked real good when I took this pic a few years ago at a show in Texas. Sits just right to me with them Fatties

Took this one too. Nice as well.

From the "Popular Hotrodding" Website....Looks fast sitting there.

Wouldn't a 275 60 be right at home ? about 28inches high.

Not a real big fan of the "Big and little" look on a 2nd Gen Charger. Doesn't come across as a drag type body style IMO. Kinda needs about a 255/60/15 all the way around for that "Round track" look it was designed for.

I think both look fine as far as tire width goes.  I ran normal width tires at first on my '69, then when I put new tires and wheels on, I went with 11 wide tires on the back and standard size on the front.  They look good and definitely give mroe grip, but I noticed it was harder to get the back end loose on purpose, hehe.

As long as your not running bicycle tires (tuner/modern) on there with 4000000000000 inch rims and spinners, It's all good.

Rear 10x15 (295/50-15) and front 8,5x15 (235/60-15) is in my opinion one of the best looking combo's on a second gen. Charger.

To 68RT4ME:  I know the owner and restorer of both the '71 green Chally and the'70 R/T Charger. The Chally was tubbed to fit 15" wide rims on it and it does look nice. The Chally has been sold to a friend in Louisiana now. A built 440 and 727 auto is in it and it goes as fast as it looks.

The "70 R/T Charger was restored about 10 years ago and has been in his family since it was bought new. It was a fan favorite at Boerne Tx. Charger meet a few years ago and is really nice. Factory 4-speed and Dana rear with only about 38,000 miles when it was restored to original color and drivetrain. The drivetrain is numbers-matching. He let his brother in Louisiana keep it there and I am not sure if it is still there or back in Kingwood Tx where he lives. His brother died a couple of months ago of cancer!  Major bummer ! He still has a lot of family in Houma La.

Both cars look great in person and the big wheels in the rear/ smaller wheels in front look great on those cars.

It would be the tall enough but would give my Charger a raked look that I don't care much for.
