With all this sunroof interest lately, why is this car not sold yet?

I think we are just waiting for the price sweet spot to show up. This car started out on Craigslist over a year ago at $56K. Owner supposedly had it appraised and came back at $55K. Car looks to be in good shape, but is missing the sunroof lid - which will be tough to find or fab. It does have a lot of nice options like Power disc brakes, Rear defogger, the AM/FM Cassette/Microphone radio, Tach, Speed Control, Light package and Concealed headlamps. Scott.

Can't imagine why the headlight washers are such a rare option.

To be brutally HONEST, no disrespect intended. I think most of the charger market is directed at second gens. 68-70. 71 and up seem to only appeal to people who like that type of styling or the budget for a second gen is out of reach and they want to have a charger just because its a charger. .
i could have bought a nice 73 charger for 1/3 the price i paid for my 68. Goes to show.

I think thats gods honest truth too. Just not many people will admit because it might come across as disrespectful and offensive to those who own third gen chargers. I just cant love them like i love the second gen styling. Now imagine if that ad was a 69 charger with a sunroof. Im sure it would have sold almost instantly. lol.

I also see quite a few third gen chargers that appear for 1/3 the price of second gens and vet little to no interest, either on facebook groups, private car sales, or online. And when they do sell, they sell for what second gens did 7 or so years ago.

71 & later Chargers have slightly more appeal than 66-67 Chargers. That's not a slam on anyone's cars or tastes, rather it's the truth

Yea for sure slightly. Yes i agree while it is the truth the price of second gen chargers now are astronomical and far out of majority of buyers reach. Those with a third gen charger as stated above either have one because they like the style of it, or because there cheaper than the second gen, :shruggy: the 66-67 chargers are similar to third gens, also cheap but funky looking.

jefferson

If i was strapped for cash and just wanted a dodge charger for the sake of it, then yes, id buy a third gen, because there quite a lot CHEAPER and there still a dodge charger and i can tell everyone i own a dodge charger. And they will still turn heads burnin up the streets.  Im simply saying the reason that charger is still up for sale is quite frankly the charger market is quite limited to those wanting third gen chargers. Imagine if that was a 68 69 or 70 charger in that condition for that price. It would be sold in a heartbeat. Correct?

Hey, look at it this way; the 3rd generation Chargers are worth far more then the 5th & 6th generation Chargers.

Its obvious why the car is still for sale.
While rare and cool, its still a project from the sound of the advert.
Missing sunroof parts is a going to be a pain.
Its a great car but its not priced fairly and thus it sits.
Its priced like a V code project.

I definitely choose 3rd gens over 2nd gens and it's purely because I like them a lot more. I have zero against second gens, they're great cars, but they just don't do it for me.  I could only ever see myself owning a 70 if I decided to buy one. Love the 68-69 Roadrunners and 68-70 Coronets though. It has nothing to do with budget (for me) and I never settle. When I was a kid I got into 2nd gen Chargers watching the Dukes, but once I saw the 3rd gens it was game over.

Oddly, the clueless people that dismiss these classic Chargers refer to the 2006-2011 Chargers as 1st gen and the 2012-2018 as 2nd generation Chargers.
