8:75 pinion gear splines

  Do all 8:75 pinion gears have the same spline or are they different with large or small yoke ??

The u-joint size does not determine the spline. Mid '69 the spline went from 10 spline to 29 spline. Which carrier housing do you have? 741 742 489?

Axle splines - the same.

Pinion splines vary as mentioned.

  Its a 741 case out of a 68.

'68 is a crossover year, probably 10-spline but......

Measure the hex size of the pinion nut; if it's 1 1/8" it's a 10-spline, if it's 1 1/4" it's 29-spline.
