What size sway bars came on 69 R/T Chargers?

0.92".   BUT (there's always a "but") , more important is the spring rate.  The FSM does not specify a spring rate and repro manufacturers may not specify either so you may not know what you are getting.  Most of us go for bigger TBs anyway so it may not matter.  1.00" and up seems pretty common.

My sway bar measured 1.130" so that would make it a 1 1/8" bar. Torsion bars I'm not sure, I've popped underneath to read them before but forgot, so I'll have to have another look.

 Sorry, completely misread your post.  Sway, bars came on all RT's and I think they are either 3/4" or 7/8", again small by today's standards for our heavy cars.

Bear in mind that spring rates dramatically ramp up as (any kind of) torsion/sway bar gets bigger.  I recall the figure that a 1.00" bar is about 3x the stiffness of a 0.75" bar.

the spring rate is not just the ticknes but the lenght too... and 70s are, for example, shorter, so a shorter unit could be stiffer even with same thickness

One torsion bar reads 784R 485

What can you tell me about it  

Also, is it standard for the torsion bar to go through the header? It looks like a real PITA should the header need removal.
