I made a mistake in the order of assembly and would prefer not to work backward. The oil pan and windage tray are installed. Is there any way to get the correct torque on the damper (110ftlbs) without removing the oil pan to shove wood in the crank and stop it from rotating?
Any ideas would be great. I have a strong impact socket but it does not indicate torque setting.

Please DON'T use an impact gun to tighten the dampener, use a torque wrench.

go to www.manciniracing.com and search for the damper holder tool.  part number is MRE712330.  it is a very handy little tool to keep in your tool box.

Tightening the dampner with an impact is a sure way to strip the threads in the crank!!!  (I did that in my younger, more stupid days)  As andyf said...get the tool  to hold it   or hold it at the flywheel   and use a torque wrench......and.....don't forget the Loctite!!!
