Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of changing my red stripes to a ghost black and I want to get the best there is. I've been reading that you can't wax the matte black stripes which would be a bit of a nuisance.
Who makes/sells a really good product.
Any recommendations?
Your input is much appreciated.
Fred.

The cars from '68 Reapers have matte black stripes on both black Chargers. Maybe they have experience with it?

You have to be extra cautious with flat black paint or vinyl.

If you ever get any polishing compound, or certain chemicals (gasoline), or bird poo on it, the stains can be there permanently.

Just be careful with it and clean off any contaminants immediately.

I used to have organisol hood stripes, but switched to gloss for easier maintenance during the last paint job.

Flat black looks wicked though so long as you don't mind the upkeep.

I did the hood on my 67 and used a less gloss but not completely flat. I used Hot hues hot rod black but it prob wouldn't give you the look you are looking for.

Aaah!  Hence the "Do not wax" warning.

You're right, it does look wicked. Don't think black gloss stripes will have the same effect. Would you even notice black gloss stripes on a black gloss duco.  :scratchchin:
Will have to think this through.

Make a decision yet?

NO. I'm in the same place I was the last time I thought about changing the stripes.........unsure as to which is the best option.

   fizz makes a good point.
