440 head bolts:
Since I am having to replace the head gaskets on my 440, the time is appropriate to change out the head bolts for new ones. Is there a source for a 440 head bolt OEM-style kit?
Or, is it a bad idea to reuse the originals?

Thanks...

I have reused originals on my cars......"stretch" bolts on the newer cars require new bolts when rebuilding

Reused the origonals on my 383 cause i was in highschool and broke. Ran great for 15 yrs til it broke a piston. On a mild stock build it would probably be fine. But after spending the cash to rebuild an engine, might as well spend a few dollars on some arp hardware for peice of mind.

Agreed.. This isn't a rebuild.. If I have to mess around to that level, I'll just put the 440 HP that was in my Daytona when I got it in it.,,,, no cost, just labor of love.... in 100 degree garage.. :-)

You have them off amd they are 50 years old and have a head gasket failure. I would replace them.  :Twocents:
