Graveyard Carz - My Son is Hired

My Son Justin is hired by GYC starting July 16th. I'm excited for him. He actually builds my wings for me know. Mark liked that - LOL

Kern Dog

Good news!
On a side note....I wonder why some guys do that pose for pictures: The folded arms and grumpy face. Its not as if they are in a gang and trying to intimidate their adversaries.....These guys restore Mopars. I'd have an ear to ear grin.

JB400

The pretty one has a smile.  Good enough for me.

Congrats to you and your son for him scoring a dream job.

Very cool!
Maybe he can see if the Ghouls would help me with my race-replica Superbird. I don't know how to contact them.
Ultimately I want to run it in Nevada at the NORC and SSCC. I have all the parts now, and am about to start tearing into it. But how cool would it be to have the pros at GYC put it together!!! (Maybe they'd take a nice 68 Charger as payment?)

Stevearino

That is pretty awesome. If nothing else he will surely get a great education on all things Mopar. :coolgleamA: :coolgleamA:

Congrats!

The only real downside is he's probably going to be posing like that in all your future family photos if you don't stop him.

"Stand there and let me get a picture of you and Nana, son."

"Hold on dad, I need to put on my angry face."

Just yesterday I saw that Dave Rhea will no longer be working at GYC due "unfortunate circumstances". Instead he will be breaking off on his own. It's too bad. I liked Dave.

What does that mean? He wanted more money or had trouble dealing with Mark?

Where will we find Dave? Anyone know?

I hope Dave does well for himself.  I  hope Dane's son does well too.

Random thought/question..how would they insure their property and back lot.
They have wing cars setting back there along with a bunch of other high dollar cars and they seem rather undeterred about it?

that has always scared me about that place , not only is your car exposed , to more damage and corrosion and what not . Its most likely a parts car for what ever other car is being restored before it .

First, the site is pretty secure.. Much better then his old place.

I like David and wish him well. I am curious what happened and why there was no non-compete clause in his contract. He is just down the road from Graveyard Carz..

Best of luck to both of them..

Oh, and congrats to your Son.

That said, do they actually have an inventory of cars they sell?  I've not been able to locate a website (other than to buy t-shirts, and crap like that).

Oh yeah...How Mark seemed to think that Darren's car was fair game when he needed parts for another project.....That would be really shitty if it was real. TV shows like these...It is hard to know what is real and what is just made up for the sake of drama.

Very true. But to do that on tv is messed up. Real or fake

The corporate lawyers that I have known over the years have told me that common non-compete clauses in employment contracts are effectively unenforceable. Take that for what it's worth. I don't think it would matter here because he's not restoring cars, rather components. Plus, Mark is restoring on a TV show. Dave and his bro don't have a TV show of their own.

Just a guess:
Maybe he wasn't very comfortable with being on TV. I think that most people are not. He looks to be a great car guy, no question. I also understand that much of what is filmed is on weekends while their regular work takes place Mon-Fri.
I know that I like my weekends free to do other things.

XS29L9Bxxxxxx

Watched a run of that how the other day. Hadn't really been it before. They advertised 10 year. Really?  :popcrn:

For a show, it was pretty weak, and seemed ego filled. It was the episodes w/ Mark and a red wagon, plus Tony D'agostino trying to prove who had more knowledge. Yawn.
