So I have a bunch of parts I'm getting ready to blast.  I want to choose the right, durable, lasting finish with the right sheen for parts such as the headlight pod brkts,  bumper braces, etc.  I called Southern Polyurethanes and asked them what to use and they said they have guys use their Black epoxy primer (as it has a satin appearance) and leave this as the final finish for chassis' all the time.  I wonder if there is any UV protection on this?  How durable for say the rear axle?

There are mixed reviews out there on Eastwood's Chassis paint.  Even the new ceramic stuff.   I want to spray it and not bomb can it, just my preference.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I use SEM rust inhibitor. I even paint the back side of the bumper with this stuff.

For all of the bumper support/brackets, the k frame, axle, etc.......I brushed on black POR-15 after the media blasting, then applied SEM Trim Black when the POR was still slightly tacky.

Great look....and hard as nails.

The old vintage nails, not that cheap crap everywhere now.   When they used actual metal alloy in the nails.   But I digress.....it's a tough finish.

I used SPI Epoxy Black for all of my suspension parts. Some I top coated and some I left as epoxy only.

What you see on the k frame is just the SPI Black epoxy.
