Pistol grip upper bezel

What holds the upper bezel to the shifter?  I have a rebuild kit from brewers that includes both grips, bezels, screws, and the upper lens.  I was thinking a couple dabs of epoxy?

The top of the lever is peened over to retain the bezel. Grind away the peening to remove the bezel. The lens is glued in place, pry it out and you'll see the peening.

Ok that's what I thought. During reassembly do you peen it back in place then? I'm a little nervous hammering away on my freshly re chromed shifter..

I just stick my bezels on with RTV. Goo up the lever protrusion and set the bezel in place, then apply some more to the tip of the protrusion. Wait for it to set up before installing the lens.
