It looks like I might be going to Toyota permanent

I have been working as a contractor for quite a while now. It was only supposed to be a short term thing. They kept extending the contract and giving me longer hours. They asked me last week if I would be interested in coming to work full time as a permanent employee. it's not set in stone and I will still need to interview. It would be a mixed blessing for me. I will actually make less money but the benefits are pretty darn good. The pay is very good on anyones standard. I guess if it all works out I will be beginning a new career. So much for retirement! They are a good place to work for. I have grown to appreciate the philosophy. It's a well run organization. First class all the way. They treat their people very well.

Wow, that sounds like quite a 180 from what I recall you saying before.  Sounds like the brainwashings have taken effect.     Where is OM's foil hat?    I think you need to start wearing it when you go into work.  They don't have you thinking that new Yaris go-kart is cool, do they?

Seriously though, it sounds like they really value whatever it is you're doing for them, congrats on creating the demand for yourself.  Good luck with it.

The indoctrination is complete! You are right. My attitude has changed about the job. The job is still pretty tough but I have adjusted to it over time. Once you get use to the philosophy it isn't too bad...Plus I like the money. There's no guarrantee it will go permanent..We will see what happens.

My car is still at the body shop..go figure. It is painted. I'm waiting for him to finish the buffing. I am supposed to pick it up this weekend. Cross your fingers..Maybe I can post a picture or two.

I've been to the Toyota Plant once back in 98. Very nice facility they there. I hear it is a tough place to work but, the pay and bennies is good from I understand.

It can be tough. I have it easy compared to the guys who do the real work in the plant. I won't know if the job becomes permanent for a while. We will see what happens. I have mixed emotions about it. It depends on the day of the week. I like the money but miss my freedom. I would be crazy not to take the job if the opportunity comes about.

Well if it doesn't work you could always apply for the Corvette Plant. I would apply for the position of the guy who gets to dyno test the cars.
