So I just got my fresh rebuilt transmission back in the car. It has a 10 3/4  converter in it, and a stock repo pan.  I have put in 7.4 L of fluid. But in N with car running , I am still getting a low reading on the dipstick.  The Book calls for 13 pts. (imp) = 7.38 L of fluid.  I had this problem before I had the tranny rebuilt as well I always seemed to get a low reading on the dipstick with the car running.  When the car sat for the night and I pulled the stick I would get a reading.. 3 or 4 inches above full?

What Do I follow here ? I took the car for a very short drive down the street and it seems to shift fine.

The only other difference is an aftermarket aluminum rad.

Some cars did come with the 10 3/4" converter, HEMI equipped cars for example.
Disregard what the book reads about the volume...Add fluid until it reads properly on the dipstick. It always reads high after a cold start because of drainback. This is why you should also start and run the car in neutral to allow the transmission to pump the fluid to the converter faster.
