I've been trying to explain why my engine has always run somewhat choppy/lopsided sounding.  Through multiple cam/head swaps (mild to mid cams), tune ups, electronic ignition conversions....it's always had a choppy/lopsided idle.  So I checked the compression.  I have quite a difference between the highest and lowest cylinder.

1: 145
2: 145
3: 143
4: 140
5: 135 (low)
6: 153
7: 140
8: 157 (high)

This engine is around 9:1 compression.  Could this imbalance in compression cause issues?

Redo the test, record the reading on the 1st rotation, and then after the 4th for each cylinder. No more. Throttle wide open and on a full battery. If you still have a low one, a small shot of wd40 into it and recheck to see if it comes up. What engine is this, what are the full specs of the cam,
