anyone here run 17 by 9 and 17 by 10 rims on their 3rd gen chargers here? is this possible?

andyf

18x9 should fit okay if you get the correct offset.

Here is a shot from the inside.  The 18 inch rim clears the upper ball joint and the tie rod so you can run more backspace.  These rims are the Mustang F500 18x9 with 6.0 inches of backspacing.

Hey andyf, Thats not the Coronet that I see in Mopar Action or Mopar Muscle is it?

andyf

It is the same car.  It has been in Mopar Action, Mopar Muscle and Popular Hot Rodding.  Lots of mag articles for a car that is half done and has a lousy paint job!

This article on the Comp Cam website has a decent picture of my car.  It isn't a show car, it is a car that gets thrashed on!

Do you use the same size on the front and rear with the same backspacing?  Those are awesome looking wheel and an awesome car.

I think 6 inches backspacing is too much to rear unless you install spacers plates between rim and drums
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

On my car (which obviously isn't a 3rd gen) I used 17x8 up front and 17x10 in the rear.  I assume those sizes would fit a 3rd gen fairly easily.  I've done some wrenching on a '72 RoadRunner and it had huge wheelwells.

Hey andyf, what kinda times does the Coronet run?
