I thought I'd seen it when it came out, but clearly I hadn't (must of fallen asleep). Really enjoyed it this time and even better, I liked how they used that red '66 Charger in it.

Bad B-rad

That red 66 was at the Mopar Nats a few times, I think the owner, was/is very active on the car show circuit.
Super nice car.

68RT440

That's a nice car and I really liked the movie as well

JR

I agree, that's a fantastic movie.

The first gen Charger is a nice bonus.

The first time I saw it I was living on the road and wasn't getting much sleep.  If I remember correctly, I came in after the movie had started and Danny Devito was speaking in some bizarre circus scene. I wasn't in the mood for any weirdness and just laid-down and fell asleep.  This time was different (I also just buried my father last year) so....I paid a bit more attention.

Never seen it.  What genre is it in?

lloyd3

Hmmm, tough to peg it. Action adventure turned end-of-life and re-connecting with your son?  The car plays a fairly significant role but I wouldn't call it a "car" movie.

Listed as "Adventure, Drama, Fantasy". I've seen it and it's something different from your ordinary movie. As lloyd mentions, the '66 Charger plays a big role.

Here are some screen shots. I wonder how they captured the Charger in the tree shots??

JB400

Thank you much.  Might be worth watching at least once.

FastbackJon

To get the car in the tree, you weld a big bar in the engine bay and cut a hole in the trunk lid, then hang it from a crane.

"This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold..." -- Numbers 7:84 KJV

Wow, did that car ever have the bar removed and be made driveable again?

Looks like a sacrificial stunt-double to me.

And just like that, the magic was gone.

I hate to break it to you, but the General Lee didn't really survive all those jumps either.

YEP, movie magic!!!!!
No way a Charger can fly into a tree branch!
No way the Duke boys really jumped all those times with out a scratch on them or the car!
And NO WAY a 68 Mustang could EVER catch that black Charger R/T in Bullitt!
I dont care if Steve Mcqueen is driving, or not.
Movie Magic!!!

Ghoste

I have to admit the McQueen one did make me wonder if it could be fake.
