6 pack vs. EFI

Does anybody have any experience with the Edelbrock Pro Flo XT system on a RB?  I have had a 6 pack setup on the shelf since 1977, and see that quite a few people run that, but what about the EFI?  I think it would drive quite a bit better on the street, although I had a Challenger T/A for a while years ago and never had any problems with that at all.  Will the EFI make more power?  What about daily driving fuel mileage?

I removed a fully functional six pack setup to go to FItech EFI.

No regrets. I'd do it again.

The six pack can be tuned to run great, and looks awesome at a cruise night.

But for a car I just want to get in and drive without headache, the TBI has been great. I just get in it and go, and don't have to worry about rebuilding the carbs every few years, ethanol gas gumming up three different carbs, or tuning setups for different reasons. I just get in and go and the computer does the rest.

Someone will inevitably come along and post that they drove their Six Pack car 20 years straight, uphill in a blizzard the whole time and they never had to touch the carbs, but I don't care. I lived with a six pack for 15 years. It's great on a show car/cruise night queen, but I'll pass on it for a driver.

I am a die hard carburetor guy but I bet a holley 6 pack set up is very hard to keep in tune for a regular driven old car. I did the fi tech but didn't do the in tank fuel pump like I should have and wound up going back to my 850 holley double pumper which actually works really well for a carburetor but it's no 6 pack. If you decide to go EFI do yourself a favor and do the tanks inc set up and the rest of the system will thank you for it....

Get this and have EFI and a six pack.

That is exactly what I was going to say.   Best of both worlds.     :2thumbs:
