Does anyone know why in the gauge clusters, while all other gauges are weathered and have "browned" the clock usually stays looking mint? Anyone else ever wondered?

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

The clock and/or tic- tach's are stamped from aluminum. The speedo and other gauges are stamped from mild sheet steel. The yellowing you see is oxidation from the iron.
