The OEM pan would have "402" embossed on the underside in fairly large letters.  I'll scrounge a photo of the stamping here in a bit.   Found one (unrestored, no less), courtesy of Jim B. / maxwellwedge:

I have attached two pictures of the reproduction 402 oil pan.  It is a nice piece and I would not hesitate in using one over a dented and warped pan.

You can upgrade to a hemi oil pan so that will give you a 6 quart capacity instead of a 5 quart capacity. Mancini Racing has the hemi pan and pick up screen for a good price. I am currently running the hemi pan on my 493 ci RB engine and it works great!!!

Exactly what I did! Didn't see any discrepancy between it and my dented original.

Aside from the 402 pan, wasn't there another that was a 4 quart capacity? I thought the 402 was also only 4 quarts, the filter being responsible for the final quart.

I agree. The main issue with the 402 pan as I recall and could be wrong..I don't think there is an after market oil pickup that fits correctly in the original pan. The aftermarket pans conform to the aftermarket oil pickups.

Didn't think a 70/71 would fit into a pre 70 car?
Different K-member needed I thought, like my 71 GTX.
