i was driving my Toyota to get some dinner tonight. i was making a right turn onto a street and all the cars stopped because there was a Bike riding in front of a driveway and someone wanted in to that driveway. so i thought f-this and quickly turned into the fast lane. well in my blind spot there was a mini van. OOPS. i hit it and broke her bumper and her head light assembly and knocked her grill off. my car is OK. it pushed in a large dent into the rear quarter panel, but it didn't break any of the lights. there is a side marker light on it in the middle of where i hit and the damn thing isn't even cracked. the woman i hit was cool, she didn't call the cops or anything, she just wanted to get the cars fixed. and after i told her that i knew it was my fault she wasn't very mad.. just shook up. I'm hoping everything goes as planed and she doesn't try and fuck me over... because i know it was my fault so she could try and take me for all I'm worth... which isn't much... the Toyota i was driving only cost me $80... but it was a shell that i bought and i did install the engine and make it run again... its kinda stupid but i love the little Toyota... i payed 80 for the car and 15 for a belt and made it run... it is the cheapest more relyable car I've ever owned. o well. in the next few days we'll see how it pans out. i suppose its time to learn hot to do body work because you can't pay a few hundred for a body shop to fix an $80 car. that just seems wrong.

Hey, it sucks that that happened...but as long as you're willing to take responsibility for your actions & pay for the damage you caused, you are a good guy in my book.
Even if it get's claimed on insurance, they usually give you some leeway & will let you make payments. I've been there before in my younger days & even though making monthly payments to someone else's insurance for a while sucked, I was glad that the person I hit was able to get their car fixed & get on with their lives.

Oh & next time...check your blind spot. :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Number of cars I have had (still have ) in the past 5 years              9
I still have all of mine she is on her 9th and only car. Come on how many people do you know that can drop a tranny out of a 95 Lumina Van at 55mph ? and she wounders why I wont let her drive my stuff. LOL

Oh and Nik , outstanding that you are takin the responseability for your actions. Thats a rare thing these days.  :2thumbs:

I hate people who are winers. my roommate caused a accdent a while back, and she came to me and told me how she had gotten in a car accdent and how hurt she was... i felt sorry for her. she had the victom tone in her voice so i thought someone had hit her... NOPE she rear ended someone.

I have no problen saying i caused the car accdent.. because i did.. it was a accdent i should have been paying better attention. i just hope that everything works out ok. i've heard to may horror stories about one party being honest in claiming the accdent and the other pary is out for blood and trys to screw the other person over.

I hope my honesty and responseability in the matter is not taken advantage of. i want the lady to get her car fixed. and i want my insurance to cover it.. if there is some problem with my insurance that can't be worked out, i'm at falt and have to deal with that. but as long as she dosen't sue me or something crazy like that i think everything will be ok.

Remeber when I hit that Metro? And then even though she said it was fine when we exchanged info, she tried to claim her osteoporosist on my insurance, and said that I would have to pay all here medical bills from then on, some people will always try to work the system for all its worth.

No offense to your wife or anything, but I hope I never go thru that many cars. I've had my license for almost two years now and I have never got in a wreck or close to even having one. I started racing before I got my license, maybe that has something to do with it.

Carelessness is not accidental, thanks for not killing the biker.

SirNik73

it wasn't carelessness it was an accident. don't tell me you've never cut anyone off in your day. i didn't kill any one. i don't know what the biker had to do with it. he was 4 car ahead of me and no where near me when i cut off the lady. no one was hurt. the worst part was her grill fell off. don't talk to me like i can't drive. because i bet that you made plenty of mistakes over the course of your life. I'm 21 years old. i bet you never did anything you regret at 21. i know plenty of 21 year olds that would try and weasel out of something like this. so let me step up and face this incident like a man. because i think that a hell of a lot better then what most people in this world would do if they were in my shoes.

Seeing that scam artist was a woman, you would think that she would be wise enough to know that osteoporosis is caused by prolonged calcium deficiencies, not being rear-ended by a Dodge Charger...

Yeah well she was from Clearlake, and that area is notourious for massive amounts of drug use. Plus I wasn't even in my Charger(THANK GOD!!!) I was driving my Neon.

This post makes me feel better about my wifes driving. she wrecks em at the rate of 1 per year. usually, i pound em out and patch em up. about every third wreck totals the car beyond repair. and she wonders why i wont buy a new car. ::)
