Lot #1430 - This stunning HEMI Superbird is one of 135 ever produced, and one of only 77 automatics. It is powered by its original matching-numbers 426ci 8-cylinder engine. The transmission was upgraded with the famous 18-spline A833 HEMI 4-speed manual transmission and the rear end was upgraded with the stout 3:54 Dana. Its solid provenance is validated with its original decoded Fender Tag, matching-numbers engine, most of the Build Sheet and all body stampings. This Bird retains much of its original interior, including the original seats, door panels, instrument cluster, dash pad and headliner. In addition to the original engine, it has the original carbs and distributor. It has been beautifully repainted and retains the original vinyl roof. It also comes with both, hard to find, original jacks. The sheet metal is original and rust-free, and even the reproduction resonators show the Chrysler Pentastar. It rides on Goodyear Polyglas tires over Rallye wheels.

Apparently, buyers were holding out for the two 6-bbl cars for the same money.      "Easy access spark plugs?   Nah, I'm good."

Missing front side marker lens brought down the price.   :brickwall:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

I don't know about you guys but I'd rather have a good solid original Hemi car over a stripped and flipped rotisserie six barrel car. Defies logic in my eyes.

odcics2

Trans and axle have been swapped out, so not numbers matching anymore.
Unless the original parts are still around, that hurt the sale price.   :Twocents:

I agree.   The Hemi is the better car, I was very surprised it didn't drag more money compared to the earlier cars that day.   Especially since anything Hemi was big money on Friday, but not on Saturday?!?

Love white 4speed Superbirds....... And a Hemi at that......... Maybe I should give him the proper valve cover crankcase vent can...... That parts store version is loud.......

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

My bird is supposed to be an EW1 car, some smart fella painted it Lemon Twist in the 80's....  :yesnod:

I'm not in a financial position to purchase a Hemi bird, no matter the color or transmission. But if I were, I'd make a solid offer for yours instead... Nicest one I know of - WNut...

Possibly a glass nose?     Who knows.    We weren't there to actually thump on it.

It was steel. It had a dent in the opening of the left headlight door.
