Take a look here. Not a photographic essay on how to tell them apart but good descriptions on physical differences. https://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/manual_transmission_overhaul_kits/chrysler_dodge_3_4_5_6_speed_reference_material.html

The A-230 was used in cars & some trucks. 3-speed manual with synchros & a single shifter mounting point tail shaft for A-bodies & dual mounts for the B & E body applications.

Is there a partial VIN on the passenger side of the case? PP230 will also be stamped there.

was found a casting number C-94251

wouldn't be weird is not a Mopar piece. You can find ANYTHING around here, specially where this car was parted out. Was removed from a 72 Charger LOOOOONG time ago with 360... so of course is not original engine or transmission... note there is not yoke but a hub, so it seems came initially out from a truck/RV

Those were used in column manual shift 3-speed cars, the trunion would put it early to mid- sixtys.

That number is cast in, not stamped.

The stamped in numbers offer better clues.
