I've been trying to track down such an animal for replacing the tailshaft bushing on my 833. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have searched and searched and came up with nothing. It seems like in the last few years a few of these tools were discontinued. I ran a some part numbers from older threads on other message boards with no luck. I really am looking for the correct tool or tools, and if there is nothing out there then I'll resort to some ingenuity. I really prefer having the right tool for the right job. Thanks!

They don't list the 833 but the 727 uses the same bushing and seal.

Nothing wrong with wanting or having the right tool. However if the tail shaft housing is removed from the trans it is very easy to remove and install with basic tools. Unless you plan on doing many of these or have a uncontrollable tool fetish save the $$$ and pull the extension
my 2 cents

I won't deny I have a bit of a thing for tools. But I also have a pile of 833s I may rebuild if I enjoy doing this one. There doesn't seem to be much to these trannies at all.

Pulling the tail on an 833 isn't as easy as just removing the bolts.

I don't know if this is directed at me, but I'm in the middle of my first rebuild, so I know exactly what you mean. I had everything torn down for a while, just waiting on an order from Brewers to show up.

Just an update. This tool works great. The rebuild of the tranny was excellent. Much easier than I anticipated. I'm glad I tackled the rebuild. Having a hydraulic press made things move along pretty nicely too. I won't hesitate to do another.

Does anyone know who carries this tool now? Mine no longer exists after a shop fire. Trying to replace all my tools.

Thanks!
