How will my Charger look with these wheels?

Found a set of 4 Crager 18 x 8 wheels with 4.5 backspace on CL, new, never installed. They should fit nicely on my 72 Charger with a pair of 245/45-18 on the front, and a pair of 245/50-18 on the rear. Opinions on the style of this wheel and how you think it would look.

I think the wheel style looks good. Not sure about the fitment, that stuff was always lucky guess-work for me.

I have allways though 17" is the max size to look good on our cars to be able to keep some good rubber size... but is just a personal taste. The wheel itself looks great thought

Why not just get 4 the same size? You're not going wider in the rear and it will be easy to rotate.

I like them.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

If that's your car in the photo I would consider the 18's a downgrade. Looks great as it is.  JMO

I like them.

I was just looking at Magnum 500's for my charger, but if i am going to spend the money i will go with the Vectors, just my preference.
the wheels on that car already look good.

I like them styling wise.

Fitment wise, I think 8 inches on the rear is too skinny. Chargers look like elephants on stilts when you have an 18 inch diameter wheel that's only 8 inches wide.

But the positive is, the handling would be great, with the square 8 inch setup.

I don't like the black center.  I think those wheels would look good with a grey center section.  I'd keep the Magnums over those.  :Twocents:

They are different sizes right now front and rear. 255/60-15 front, and 275/60-15 rear. I wanted to keep the rears about 28" tall like they are now. The 245/50-18 is 27.6" tall, very close to what I have now. I am not sure how they would work on the fronts though. The 245/45-18 is about 26.7", shorter than the 275/60-15's now.

I would stick to what you already have. Love your Charger. Got make it point to see this year at MATS if you're going to be there.

Are you shooting for the original Vectors or repops? If original, what size Vectors you aiming for?

Your Charger looks great as is...

However, the wheels would tie in with the top and provide a change of appearance.

My advice, if you like the wheels, is get them and put them on...you should definitely keep the Magnums, and just switch them out as you see fit, or feel like a change...best of both worlds!

I like the design of the Crager wheels. In my opinion 18" is too large for a classic muscle car.
I would keep the wheels you have now on it.

If it was mine I would keep the Magnum 500 style wheel you have on it now like most everyone else has mentioned. If not, how much you want for the old wheels & tires? LOL
