Thanks for the links and mention of the Gurney flap.  I knew Dan Gurney was a racing legend, but I learned a lot about his legacy today.

He drove a Dodge, too.
Here he is in December, 1969 at Riverside.
The guys told me he was a pain in the butt - had to have his personal seat installed in the #88!!
But he did turn hot laps!
It was this test that convinced Chrysler to run wing cars at the Motor Trend 500 in January, 1970

He was a household name for MOPAR families . . . sad day for sure.

I like his Eagle Indy cars with Bobby Unser driving.
Saw them win the 1975 race in person.

As tall as he was I think he needed "his" custom seat in the car.  (probably easier to change a seat in the Mopar than a custom helmet blister in the Fords?)
