Dodge "Dude"pickup?

i buddy of mine just told me he has a 1970 Dodge DUDE pickup. It was long wheel base with a 318. Have anyone of you ever heard of this? :shruggy:

says he has been trying to buy it from a guy for 20 plus years, finally was able to get the guy to sell.
i am just curious

I think the dude pickup is a significant vehicle...although not necessarily extremely valuable.
It was an early "muscle truck", & while not a big block, it had high impact colors and a C stripe and loads of attitude.
Just the fact that one of the big three put a C stripe on a truck is pretty far out, and don knotts approves!
Downside is they only made them in longbed farm trucks which does not make sense to me.

It was just a tape package though along with a bright grille and gas cap. I wish they had made the 383 standard then it would have been something.

I think it would be cool to see a Dude pick up pulling a 70' Super bee to the track or show would look awesome. The dual C stripes & all.

I can tell you that the Certification Label (VIN) is different than any Chrysler Truck made.  It is the most difficult to make and is metallic in design.  It's certification criteria is all embossed in the metal.  According to the information printed on the metallic decals, they have "cert summary" characteristics that are different than many of the other Trucks manufactured.  If Ben Simmons is reading this, he can certainly shed some light on the topic.  He knows more about these Trucks than anyone I know.
