what oil filter are you guys using on 1969 dodge with 440?

Wix #51515 or Wix#51068 (Short filter for more clearance by 68CoronetRT)

Jomar #9025 (cdr, says no bypass all others do have bypass).

K&n here. Should be hp3001. What conflicting info are you getting?  There is a short and a tall filtrr you could run on it.

I think napa uses a wix filter for their gold line. Wix is 1515 and napa is 51515 if I remember right.

I must be the only one here that uses the short filter on my charger, I use wix or mopar on mine, the wix is a 51085 I think and the mopar is an 090 I think. Nothing against the ford filter and I have seen one cut open and they are actually good filters but I would rather not use a ford filter on my mopar....

The last filter I took out was a tall one, and I replaced it with the short version. Which was a whole lot easier to snake between the tranny cooler lines. Other's experience may vary, as I'm not too sure those lines are in the factory location or not on my car. A lot can change in 40 years.

aint that the truth...

I figure the shorter filter wont last as long before it plugged off, but then again you really dont want to leave one on there that long anyway, I have a feeling that most of the dodgecharger.com guys change their oil like they should somewhat so the shorter filter would be ok.

just always remember "to a point" a dirtyier filter usually traps more dirt/particles at least thats the way it has always been from the industrial side of things. I worked in a plant where we filtered product and the smaller the microns and the dirtyier the filter the smaller the microns of trash/particles/dirt would get filtered out.

I really dont plan on letting my charger go to long between oil changes however, at least twice a year or more often. Depending on the miles i am able to put on it.

On a 383 Plymouth, whatever I can get at Walmart:  Purolator L30001, Fram PH8A, or Supertech ST8A.  Lately I kind of like the grip tape on the Frams, so I will use those for everything if they're in stock.  I can turn them off by hand and don't need a wrench.  A lot of people don't like Frams, though.

This is the filter that I use or the 51085 wix. They are just a short version of the 51515 wix or the FL1A ford filter
