ok so today (this deal has been in the works for quite awhile now), i traded an old truck for a few dollars and this brand new Holley Carb. Its believed to be a holley vacuum secondary 650 cfm. My intentions were to install it on my 69 charger with 440. Would this be a good carb for a basically stock 440. Will it work in place of the thermo quad? or is the carb pad on the intake different?

Are there any other numbers on the main body

That looks like a 4160 style carb that has been modded out. The choke horn has been removed which will decrease flow restriction. It should work ok with a totally stock 440.

the carb is new from holley, according to him and it looks it. He said it had never even had fuel in it. Which appears to be true.

here are the only numbers i can find on the horn.

X2, looks like a 600 cfm holley that has had some custom work done on it, If you are going to build up a high HP 440 you are going to need a 750+ cfm carb. I am running a quick fuel 600 holley style carb on my ford truck with a 460 in it but it is completely stock and it runs fine but a stock 460 in 1985 was only like 250 hp...

i have another project (302 engine) that i can put it on so its no biggie, on this Charger I may run the factory thermo quad to begin with on the 440. then later buy something big enough for what i need. thanks for the input
