The dreaded triple green and it's very rough, but at least it's pretty much complete. Seeing that restored value would be in the mid 40's and it easily needs 30-35 large put into it, the price it's currently bid to is what it should be bought for.

you should mention what the "current" bid price is.
I can see 5500$ right now but that price will rise quickly.

It doesn't matter how much you will have to put into it to make it nice.
People buy and bid for a project because it is their entry into it.

I guess it will bring between 12-15k mdepending on how crusty it is from underneath

suprising how rusty the tag and pans are compared to the rest of the body

The "current price" is what I was referring to in Tan Top's picture, and sadly, you are probably right on what it will really sell for.

How can the doors close nicely when there is a humungous hole in the drivers door? I'm gonna guess a 6x9 speaker hole.

I had a potential buyer (with his wife present) tell me my 59 elco was worth about 60% of my fair asking price because of "all the resto labor" he would have to put into it..
He sounded like a tightazz and guess what, he drove from states away with a trailer and I told him to walk. Project cars don't work like that and quite frankly it's not a sellers responsibility to take a unrealistic hit on his asking price to help a buyer with expectations of getting payed for his time in a restoration process.
That is somewhat ridiculous .

Here's another 383 4 speed that recently passed through ebay, will be interesting to see how buyers value these two cars..one your hunting for parts, the other your replacing rust.

I take the replacing parts car over the rusty one any day. You can search for parts with a coffee in your hand, wearing your school clothes.

Over here it would be a closer thing......parts are just so difficult and expensive to get/import. And since I'm half reasonable with a welder and lots of bits of sheet metal I tend to replace only the most Swiss cheese of panels. Mine was pretty rusty...I only bought one panel....trunk floor.

Yes, I agree.  Seems common lately, almost normal.

That MM-1 68, maybe a body shop or mechanics lien?  Like it got sprayed and nothing else.  Missing so much, grill, interior.  Ugh.

Up to 16,200 now, with reserve STILL not met......looks like any dream I have of acquiring a second-gen Charger will remain exactly that...a dream (unless I hit Powerball). That's foolish money for that much rust.  ::)

Dude I feel for you.  I'm wondering if I should do a run of 68 A/C hard lines and sell them.  I might have to start a new thread with a poll.

I thought for sure the reserve was 15k, he must want 17-18 for it.

You are in the ballpark, apparently....is now at 18K, and the 'reserve not met' is now gone. Someone is going to own themselves a major money pit!

That's crazy money but it's one of 6 H codes with AC IIRC.

I think the bidders here are defiantly taking notice not only because of the H code 4 speed, but also putting some serious appreciation on the originality aspect.
Being a one family owned car and off the radar plus ebay seems to get to people.

the production number for this combo ('68 Charger 383 4-speed with A/C) does NOT exist

any info out there is "known to exist" in someone's registry/data collection ..... for example:
I have fender tag info for ~300 Hamtramck '68 Chargers (of nearly 90,000 built)
FOUR* are '68 Charger 383 4-speed with A/C (TWO of these have the 3.55 axle package)

* not including this car
