Anyone know were you can get a turbo kit for a 318-360 sm block 4 barrel V8 or a supercharger kit.....I want to make a little more power than stock....Thanx

I dont think there are any turbo kits made specifically for the small block, or big block for that matter.

But there are superchargers available... all depends on which route you want to go ie; roots, centrifugal, twin screw

Centrifugal:

Roots:

Keep in mind there are many different manufacturers... these are just a few

Do you plan on doing anything to the internals before slapping on a supercharger, or fabbing a turbo for it?

HemiMk

Just brain storming for the time being but should be changing the cam, intake, stroke bore, etc.
thanx for your help

No problem

I would suggest using forged components... forged pistons at the very least.

hemimk. if ys really wann turbo it i can get ya a list of what ya need

depending on how much power ya wanna make usually doing a big single is cheaper but there are easy ways to do it twin as well

HemiMk

that would be cool thanx...

ok from compressor to tail pipe the 318 would need to be as follows

For a Big single: a 60-72mm turbo (depending on desired output)
For twin(s) : two T3's off turbododges or turbofords (which i have one for sale cheap if ya want)
a 650 cfm double pumper carb boost prepped, i can give ya instructions or have it sent out to the best carb place for turbos
a single plane intake (got one for sale as well)
heads arent as big an issue with turbo carb but would prefer the classic big valves and low compression (anywhere from 8.5-9.0:1)
homemade exhaust manifolds (not had to make but must be thick material
with the T'3 you have a built in wastegate so thats easy but some big turbos require an external wastehgate so more fabbing there
basically get some tubes bent up and put the exhaust where ya want it

a stock 318 cam would work very well on a turbo car with big rockers

basically u can turbo a mostly stock 318 and get 500 rwhp easily with the right setup

sounds cheap doesnt it, most parts u ahve lying around at home? this is where it gets ya

FUEL SYSTEM(and i stress, cannot be skimped out on and will cost you about $1k):
depending on the hp requirement i think 10an is good to about 650-700 hp
-10 (half inch for you old timers) minumum -12an(5/8"?) preferred fuel lines  $?
feeding an aeromotive A1000 fuel pump (up to 700hp i think) bout                        $290  add another 200 for filters and fittings           $490
                          750+HP u need a magnafuel prostar 500                                                                                                          $560 with filter
-10an lines to your return style bypass (aeromotive 13202 or 13201 depending on HP lvl)                                                                   $160
-8 lines to carb
-12 lines back to tank

the fuel system cannot be anything less and cannot be skimped on

having a good ignition system is a must cuz cylinder pressure will be very high

all in all its great bang for you buck u can make all this hp on pump gas with 20 mpg

CONS: expensive fuel system, very delicate tuning, sounds like an airplane took off next to a stock 318

any questions  :icon_smile_big:

done a lot of research and have pages and pages of notes taken so if your wondering about something chances are ive researched it
so shoot away

HemiMk

I was actually going to send you a PM on this sometime down the road.  Could you use the same fuel setup with a stroker 360?
when racing deals fall apart.....you go home, like me.
