Merry Christmas!! Gas is getting run to garage tomorrow. The more I research/compare the more confused I get. I think something around 50,000 btu's should work. I will be heating a 25 x 27 foot garage ,attached . with 9ft ceilings ,just drywalled and insulated. If nothing is in there I would have a good amount of concrete exposed but that will probably not be the case. My biggest concern is right now it's like Siberia is right under my garage floor. I can only stay out there for short periods as my feet are near frozen and do not want this to be an issue. I had a Big Maxx at our last place (very small 1 car garage ) and had no problems. This is more than twice the size. Any and all comments , suggestions , experiences would be appreciated. I'd like to install this next week. Happy New Year!! And thanks.

Well, we had a 3 car garage built a couple years ago and we did the radiant heat. OMG it is fantastic. I keep it at 46 most of the winter until I need to work out there. Then the day before I go out and crank it to 55 or so and it is beautiful for working. No cold feet as you say.
However with the floor already pored I don't know if it would be cost effective to rip up the floor and re-do with radiant tubing. If you floor is all cracked and you plan to do it anyway, fine.
But given the choice (from scratch) I'd go with radiant. Safer and very comfortable.

Yes, radiant floor is wonderful, has a eventual payback, as the water temps are much lower than say, conventional baseboard.  But like ODZ said, the time to do it is before the pour.
Mopar forever!

Battery powered heated socks, used for hunting or I use them when out plowing snow with the skid steer, great.

c00nhunter , that is one I am considering. It's the one I had previously. The radiant one would be an overhead natural gas. Not tearing up concrete. Thanks for all the replies

I would definatly go forced hot air vs overhead radiant.

I have a lot of 80,000 btu radiant heaters on my farm and they are great, but in my shop I use forced air heaters.   Radiant can get things a little too hot directly under them if it is a tall object or a tall truck, ect.     :Twocents:
