Just curious if anyone knows of any common problems/rebuild tips for a thermoquad. The one I am using has the large 1 1/2 inch primaries and has the number 9150.  From a site I found it shows this carb was from a 78 440 or 400 truck.  There is also some time of electronic device on the rear of it, and a very different looking idle screw.  Any basic info on tuning or info would help.

I'm a TQ lover, but is true that is REALLY REALLY HARD to get them in good conditions. Mostly of problems are from broke plastic bowls. The most common fail is leaks on bowl wells what are glued with white epoxy glue. That's easy to fix just replacing the glue. Several times leaks are practically impossible to find, so, as far you get a good plastic. rest is piece of cake.

Here you can find several uses for TQ carbs with the right rebuilt kit:

and a GOD of TQ carb with replacement parst available:

he is a very nice guy what have helped me several times with info, and making me offers about carbs.
