Why Is The 70 Considered Lesser ?

Even I'm a 3rd gen owner and they got loop bumpers, 70s are not my favs just because that. 3rd gens got at least some of the body above the bumper, not at the full edge like 70s.

Of course If I have the chance to get a 70, would get it without doubt, but if a 68/69, better. And yes, even 70s are the best talking about options and upgrades like the steering column newer setup ( hazzard and ign switch ), I THINK 69 is still my choice.

I love highback buckets and they are REALY comfortable, but I think second gens are better suited with regular seats and separated headrest.

I think 70s could it be still R/T and SE packaged together, right ? like 69s ?

Only Mopar which I REALLY LIKE AND BIG FAN with loop bumpers are 70 Coronets... but in this case I don't like 68/69 at all!

70 B Bodies are the best of the 3 year B-Body run from 68-70. I love them all, but the 70's...

Key in the steering column is lame, looks better on the dash, 70 front bumper is growing on me, I like the 4 piston caliper disc brakes better on 69 over single piston in 70

Well, having two classic cars, one with ign switch on dash and the other on column, I can’t tell which one looks better, I think both looks nice, but on column is WAY comfortable

:iagree:
When you own a '70 with a front clip that looks like a Ladyshave.... you gotta have a huge amount of self esteem.

My first car was a 70 500 so im partial to them over 68s but i do own and enjoy a 68.  Id like to find another 70 500 someday.

Fitz73Chrgr

Depending on the day, my preference is either 70-68-69 or 68-70-69.

70 had the best options.

a 70 charger is still a 2nd Gen. Charger. WHY are we debating this again, over and over.  :brickwall:

400sforever

You guys are all crazy. I've got a 68 but there's nothing like the look of my low, mean, sinister looking 74 coming at you in the rear view with that power bulge hood up front. Best looking factory hood ever made for a charger.

I own all three (68-70) but prefer the 70 most with a big difference to 68, than 69.

If you check prices for RTs in the right Hi Impact colours/black and options you see high prices usually abvoe comparable other 68/69 Chargers.

It continues if you look at original Hemi cars. The most expensive 68 RT was LL1 turquoise and sold for 225k$ while several 70 Hemi Chargers have been sold in the past north of 300k$

Nacho, "Only Mopar which I REALLY LIKE AND BIG FAN with loop bumpers are 70 Coronets... but in this case I don't like 68/69 at all!"

IMO the 70 Coronets look like a Ford Edsile from the 50's. FAIL

Nacho-RT74

LOL...

Oh Forgott the 71/72 Satties... I love that loop bumper too!!!!

I'm not saying don't like 70 Chargers, just I preffer 68/69.

I have owned like them all 68,69,70 with no preference, they each have their pluses/minuses.
That said,
I believe the 70's were the heaviest front weighting bias with the extra Bumper weight even further out front = worst handling.

Not than any handled great, just say'in... the 70's were even worse, IMO.
It may be interesting to weigh similarly optioned all 3 years and verify this Frt/Rear weighting bias on 70's vrs 68/69 ?
Only wimps wear Bowties !

How many 70;s were made with head rests? I am assuming that would be buckets in the pink car.  :scratchchin:

In the text next to the picture, they are talking about a bench seat. ..so I'm assuming that's what it is.
