Shaddap you!  The only tools I own are Snap-On and Milwaukee! (Of course Im slightly biased because my grandfather was a Snap-On dealer for 25 years ) But trust me in some cases even Snap-On tools and equipment aren't the best choice. All my hand tools are Snap-On but I would NEVER even look at another Snap-On welder again...

    YOUVE gotta be kidding me!!  in an ideal world , sure. but when a set of 3/8 shallow sockets is like $135 on a good day a guy cant afford to fill a tool box without puting a second mortgage on his house. and heaven forbid the poor guy who doesnt own a house and accepts credit form the crooks, at 20% apr or more. theese tools are supposed to be for guys to make a living with but when it takes 1/2 of your paycheck every week to pay off what ya owe what do you have for a living?
   the guy i work with gives me crap about not buying snap on. I have snap on ratchets, and extenshons. but my sockets and wrenches are craftsman or equal quality. I almost never break one, and if i do i can get it replaced that night rather than wait 2 or 3 weeks for the guy in his truck to show up

Yea, no joke. I appreciate the quality of Snap-On tools but I really cannot afford them. I think the company makes it hard on the salesmen to sell the stuff and make a living because the prices are so high. A friend of mine owns a Snap-On 1/4" drive set and he's totally paranoid about losing it because he says it will cost him something like $350 to replace it. Jeez. I'd rather spend $70 for one at Sears and enjoy a little peace of mind.

craftsmen is awsome our toolbox is 15 years old and still holds up. you can still see the red under all the stickers.

I have had my Craftsman tools for over 25 years now. I've had to replace 1 ratchet, 3 sockets, & 1 screwdriver.  I still have my top tool box! I have also had good luck with Mac tools [bottom tool chest] and S-K Tools.
Stay away from those junk peddlers like Harbor Freight and their chinese/Pakistan/Taiwanese garbage.

Some tools you just have to buy good quality or you are wasting your time , snap ring pliers , micrometers , even wrenches & sockets etc , flare nut wrenches just have to be good steel so they do not flex & strip nuts + it has to fit in tight places .
I was shown a demonstration years ago by Snap On , they had a coupling nut & they put my craftsman wrench on one end & a Snap on flank drive on the other end & squeezed until the Craftsman stripped the nut which is what we all expected but they switched the wrenches around & put the Snap on wrench where the nut was stripped & the Craftsman on the good part of the nut & again squeezed until the nut stripped , the Snap on held on better where it was stripped than the Craftsman did on the good part & the Craftsman again stripped the nut first !! When doing restorations getting nuts out without stripping them is a huge time saver but in time & replacing hardware .
 I have yet to be convinced a Snap on Hammer is worth the extra cash although the dead blow hammers are nice . Weller makes a good product too, still have the one I bought as a teen , works great

I have a Snap-On airport tool cabinet from the '50s. It's so sturdy it still has the non-roller drawer pulls, which they quit making..well before I bought my first Snap-On tool box...
