I'm running TTI now because they fit with heads that take angled plugs.  I think Dougs also fit angled plugs, but they only come in large primaries.   I like the TTI's, but I feel like they are over priced (just like everything mopar related).

383 i had the 100 dollar hedmans. Fit great. No issues, stock heads. 1st 440 had 2" hooker super comps on eddy angle plug heads. Sucked terrible as they are designed for straight plugs. Current 440 has 2 1/8 tube ttis, fits great, no clearance issues.

Here are a few pictures.  They are ceramic.

I know I'm going to be disagreed with here but as great as those headers look I want my tubes to all be the same length.....that front one must be a foot longer than the rear one.......

Generally i agree. But with the addition of an x pipe, there will be marginal, if any measurable loss by the difference in the tube lengths on 80% of the builds out there.

I am running ancient CPPA which were bought out by TTI, 2" ceramic coated.  Running mini starter, power steering and a Lakewood blowshield.  :2thumbs:

Equal-length headers and intact inner fenderwells rarely get along very well.

TTi 1 7/8" here too. Had 1 ding on the passenger side. Everything else fit great. Spark plugs are actually accessible now and I stopped burning plug wires. The old Hooker's I had were terrible!

Not a fan of the hookers myself, had to beat a set to death to get them in one of my buddy's charger. I am running the headman's and they work fine and are easy to work around the spark plugs with strait spark plug heads. Had to ding the driver side at the steering box and at the torsion bar and the passenger side went on untouched......

I'm using,......oh wait, I don't have headers.

For the win! :2thumbs: and low 11s looking stock i might add.

The original 440 in my car had iron heads and 13/4 inch Headmans...clearance was fine. When I went to the Edelbrock RPM's a set of TTI's were installed and they fit perfectly. Still using thos headers with a set of Indy EZ's.  :2thumbs:

I also run 1 7/8" TTI's on my 505 stroker.  They are pricey but they fit perfect!

I'm running Hedman shorty headers.

I'm sure they're leaving some power on the table compared to full length, but packaging wise, they are fantastic. Quality is good, great plug access, they don't hang beneath the car at all, and they are easy to install/remove.

I could probably gain hp switching to full length, but these were already a big improvement over the manifolds, and never having to panic when driving over a rough road or a speed bump is worth the lesser power gains.

But if you're willing to deal with the drawbacks of full length headers for the extra HP, by all means, enjoy them.

The ttis on my 69 are tucked up nice and tight for the size of them. If i bottom the headers out, i will be taking alot more important parts with them.  Only component that would require removal of them is a starter, but honestly, how often do you replace your starter?

Finn

Ceramic coated Hooker Super Comps.
They look cool but required some mods. Had to lightly dent one by the frame rail and got another tube cut and re-welded so the spark plug cleared better. But I got them cheap on eBay so cant complain!

No problem man.

Here's a link to a thread where I posted two pics after installation.

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,126362.0.html

Only negative I found to them was the number two exhaust tube on the passenger side required a good sized dent to clear the shock tower. Nothing major though. I ran a torque strap afterwards to stop the engine torquing when revved, and I never had a problem with them.

It wasnt a big deal, just letting you know if you're thinking about spending the cash on them.

Speaking of which, the price is great. With the 50$ summit cupon, I payed around 430 or so for the ceramic coated 78076's. Pretty good value for money.

They've been installed since last September, and haven't leaked or failed once.

Ive never ran down the drag strip in the car, but I noticed better throttle response between corners at autocrosses, and they weighed 20lbs less than HP manifolds.

I don't know why more guys don't run them, they've been perfect for me.

Eddy heads and Hookers. Sounds like a good match for a bad movie

XH29N0G

I've been working with the 1 7/8 Hooker competition headers  (not Super COmp) on a low deck.  I only had to ding two tubes to work with the Eddy heads, but I use short plugs.  My gripe with the low deck (B) block is that the collectors hung way down below the car and would bottom out.  NOT like the nice tucked up description C00nhunter Joe describes with the TTIs.  I bent my collectors up under the car so they sit a little higher now, but that isn't what should have to be done.  Next time will be TTI.  The collectors also come out in a way that makes it challenging to bend the exhaust around so it tucks up nicely under the car and snakes through the cutouts in the body crossmember brace.   I will avoid these if I have to replace them.  :Twocents:
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

c00nhunterjoe

The hooker super comps i had in the belvedere had the goofy bend like you described on the driver side. The collector exited right into the torsion bar cross member and required a hard double 90 snake to get it to route through the factory opening. Passenger side was perfect. This was on a 440 also.

Dougs headers, best bang for your buck and work awesome on my 440 with eddy heads, ps, pb, a etc
