I am trying to help out a non computer friend who is working on a 1969 Charger 500 front end.
Is there a dealer parts book page for the 500 front end sheet metal parts?
If not does the 500 use the 1969 Charger core support?
What cross bar or latch tray does the 500 use?
Last what latch tray support does the 500 use?
Thanks! MJ

The way I understand it all the 69 Charger stuff is used
Only different parts needed is the 68 Coronet grill center section and the two parts for around the head lights
Need the 68 Coronet headlight frames ( the part that holds the two lights in the fenders ) which will mount in front of the Charger light stuff to move the lights out flush with the front edge of the fenders
There are also some special metal mounting brackets that are needed to mount the grill that are 69 Charger 500 parts only ( think someone makes them)

The headlamp buckets are unique to C500's... They are basically modified '68 Coronet buckets. Then there are the 8 support brackets, the modified headlamp bezel spacers, two vertical support brackets. This is of course over and beyond the 68 Coronet grille and headlamp bezels.. The grille of the Coronet grille is painted black.

There are numerous threads on this I believe, a couple by me...

Hi MJ,

I have a spare set of NOS grille support brackets attached to an original C500 grille.
Let me know if your good friend needs them.

Merry Christmas to all C500 owners and all other Aero's too, of course... :2thumbs:

John want me to send a car up there for reference?

Mopar John

Thanks for all the replies!
All is good here!
The 500 has all it's original pieces.
All that needs to be done is some work on the top panel.

Hi John,

As my C500 was taken apart many moons ago, I was wondering about the 'correct' bolts for reassembly.
But after many years of research it seems that Creative just used 'what was laying about'.

Some big washers, some small washers, some without washers and some no plating, so very rusty etc.
I suppose there is no definitive for 'bolt etiquette' when it comes to C500 grille frames?

Aerolite

I prefer the 'N' bolts to the bigguns.
The sidebolt into the upright is always a rusty non-washer bolt?

John have I seen this car before? It's a short drive you know

Danny,
The 500 is probably closer to you than me as the crow flies.
I got involved with this 500 because of all my parts for sale and it went from there.
Here is what I know at this time.
The 500 was bought this past spring as a project car out of Decatur, Illinois.
It was originally a black car with red stripe and red interior.
It is a 440 automatic console car.
The 500 is going through what I would call a mid level restoration.
The body work has been done and been repainted in it's original black color.
Right now all the glass and related components are being installed.
Let me know if you have any info or pictures on this one?
I will try and see if the owner will share the vin with us?
