What is this piece called, and where can I buy reproduction of them?

They are in pretty bad shape from sun exposure. But especially on the passenger side the material has rotted away to the point there is no way to even install the felt weatherstripping to the quarter-window.
I haven't been able to find these online anywhere depicted, or what they might be called.

You would think there would be companies that have a 3D printer that could just whip these out for reasonable cost now that molding is unnecessary for small volume. Just need one to copy, or design files... :(

Thanks for hunting that down, I spent half an hour on eBay and didn't find what you did. I'm going to contact him and see what he can do.

I still can't understand just 72SEs being reproed... how many of those must be around against THE REST of 71/72, or even 73/74 ???

Simply I don't get the reproduction market priorities!!! maybe the manufacturer got a 72SE on his stash needing to be rebuilt!!!????

ACUDANUT

IMO the '72 SE ruined the looks of a 71-72. AND had 3 ibs of extra bondo.  :Twocents:

My sail panel is intact but from sun fading I am afraid the plastic will break with the new cat whiskers it'll just fold over. Is there a product that adheres to the plastic that could reinforce from the back side?

Nacho-RT74

fiberglass ?

there is a fiberglass screen/mesh wich get hardened with a resin, easy to mold to the piece... that's what I'll use on my Sail panels to get them reinforced before breaks.

Ha ha, I know ACUDANUT, we have chatted before. I almost got the resto shop to convert it a non-SE but I just couldn't do it. Too much history with the car, already felt I was betraying it by going from Y8 to GB5.

I still don't understand why 72SEs and not 71/72 hardtops

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-71-72-Dodge-Charger-SE-Sail-Panels-w-Insulation-Board-NEW/152483219689?fits=Model%3ACharger&hash=item2380b548e9:g:wUUAAOSwmgJY1A8P&vxp=mtr

This listing is from a reproduction outfit and they list it for '71 SE as well?? What the "F"!

1972 SE only as you said Nacho. What if a 71 SE owner doesn't know that fact and buys a pair of these only to be disappointed.  :brickwall:

Yeah it doesn't make sense that only '72 SE get privileges on the repo sail panels.

'71 SE & non SE, '72 non SE and 73-74 non SE have higher demands for these plastic sail panels. 73-74 SE is just cardboard and easier to replace.

Fiberglass like Nacho said. Expandable foam insulation also works well. I'd insert a metal rod or something (like rebar) to stiffen the whole thing up a bit but either foam or fiberglass will be easy to sand and shape.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I didn't think fiberglass resins would adhere to the plastics, they say the new epoxy resins will if the plastic can be affected by acetone(I am guessing more porous??). Also can't use the standard fiberglass mat, epoxy makes the mat come apart. They have a woven mat you can use(fiberglass) or $$$Kevlar and carbon fiber. So after trashing all the old plastic trim pieces I had laying around gotta find some to play with.

Unfortunately, they are still non-responsive. Found their main company website and tried contacting through that with no luck either. Guess I should not be in any hurry as they don't seem to like making money.
