A friend of mine has located an original petty blue 70 Superbird for sale. Original owner, 65,000 miles in very nice condition. Here is the VIN can anyone give further information on this car. RM23U0A112861. Any info would be helpful.

Per Dave, you may wanna check it out closer.. Here's a link to the Aerowarriors website with a plethora of Superbird information.. Look down where it discusses the bottom line on fender tag and more specifically, the sequence number....

Way too low numerically for a Bird VIN.

You are right nascarxx29

Maybe the VIN was written down incorrectly by his friend?

I will be picking up my Petty  Blue Superbird this Saturday. It has been having a professional nuts and bolts restoration on a rust-free car for the last four years -- and finally finished. It was Dave Knofsky's car. It was delivered Vitimin C Orange -- but repainted Petty Blue early on. The below is a 1974 photo of it.

These are a couple of photos of it a couple of weeks ago, prior to its final detail and correct battery. It was entered in a pretty big show last weekend -- and took Best of Show.

I'll be selling this car to finance a business and the restoration of my b5 Blue Superbird (also 6bl 4-speed -- but with white buckets and console).

If your friend is looking for the best -- this might be it. The guy (Ken Presley) who restored it has received a Best of Show for his Alpine White everytime shown -- including the 2004 Monster Mopar -- and he'll tell you this car is better.
