68 RT tranny

Hello everyone and happy hollydaze!
My 727 tranny was rebuilt during the restoration by the previous owner.
It slams into gear, and on full power acceleration it chirps the tires in 2nd.
Is this normal?
Does it have a shift kit?

Chirping the tires is not uncommon, it shouldn't slam into gear even if it has a shift kit, (although the term "slam" does mean different things to different people) what is your idle speed, what converter?
