Are bucket seat console shift Coronets rare? I swear I only see one bucket seat Coronet for every 15-20 bench seat column shift ones.  :shruggy:

What year(s) are we talking? Unless it's an R/T the answer is yes. Buckets were standard on the RT's and standard on 500s from 1966 to 1969. Center console was optional.

Edit: buckets standard in 1970 on 500 also.

Even Superbee's didn't have buicket seats standard in those years so I would still say - yes its not that common.

Well crap  :icon_smile_big:

I'm not a fan of bench seat column shift cars. Guess I'll need to look for some Coronet 500s then  :scratchchin:

its very uncommon. Ive had a few, most recently sold a 68 coronet and a 69 superbee, both bench seat column shift. I have a 70 coronet now and it's bench/column as well. Coronets were for the most part a lower trim model car than the charger, so you don't see nearly as many with buckets.

Looking to sell the Dart and round up enough money to pick up a B-body. Looking around there isn't much. Plymouth B-body cars are a premium. Prefer a big block or a small block with some decent "pick me up" :D

Personally Drache, I happen to like those 1969 Coronet 500 models a lot. I like the wider lower molding, and the lower black two tone.  You also got the R/T rear treatment (same as in years prior). For some reason the '69 Coronet 500 has always hit me the right way. :coolgleamA:

The white car is a Coronet 440 model. Notice the thinner lower body moldings, grille, and tail light panel is different. Bucket seats n/a in a Coronet 440 in all years.  White car has tinted glass and once had a/c... another sign is the 26" radiator with the 318 engine.  I'd remove the stripe if I bought it....but keep the hood mailboxes though. :icon_smile_wink:

The copper one with the white top looks like a real nice, largely original car.  :2thumbs:

The only thing that gives me pause that for $15,000 the interior seems to need some work.  :shruggy:

The car I'm looking for is:
No Rust, straight
Mechanically sound, doesn't need anything
Prefer Big Block
Prefer Bucket Seats and console shift

Paint is not a big deal.

Looks like just front seat covers and a steering wheel though, right?  :scope:

All things considered I'd also go with the Coronet 500 Bill mentioned. You can't go wrong with a big block Mopar - especially with the originality that one appears to have.  :Twocents: :Twocents:

Plus its the best lookin! :icon_smile_wink:

My 1970 Coronet 500 was originally buckets and console.

Is that rust in the wheel wells in trunk picture?

Sadly the white one for roughly the same price looks to be in a LOT better shape. Sadly a small block with bench/column  :-\

I see a snow tire for a spare sitting on top of carpet. 2 things I never want to see in a mopar muscle car.

Just a few things about these cars. Bucket seats and a console and shifter are heavier than a bench seat with column shifter. Thus many cars mopar built for the track used that combo. When people saw it win on Sunday, they bought it on Monday..

In 65' the coronets had different levels and the Coronet 500's all got lots of chrome, Buckets, Console and different and unique to the 500, tail panel and tail lights. All that added about 50 pounds or more to the car over a bench and column shifter. If you look at the A990 cars they were bucket seat, but had very light van buckets with non-adjustable seat brackets. No console, radio, high means, heater, unnecessary chrome, tail panel or back seat. Very minimalistic.

To find one that has buckets and console though, you will pay!!! Even if it was not that way from the factory..

Messaged the guy with the white coronet to ask a few questions.

Got a reply back from the guy with the white Coronet.

He had no idea how the 318 was built or the horsepower of the engine. He did know the rear end was an 8 1/4 but had no idea what the rear end gearing was.

Think I'll pretty much pass on that one.

Even though I'm more looking for '68-70 that is a nice car except the column shift. Wonder what it would cost though to get it shipped to Canada. Have a feeling it would break my lowly budget between the shipping and taxes.  :-\
