It's a side-effect of the camera's frame rate.  It's like in old west movies with the wagon wheel spokes in motion.  



He was really hauling ass.  

We don't get enough sense of it in the video because there are very few objects passing by for reference.  But the occasional signpost reveals it.

That's a relief.  For a moment, I was worried that it might be one of those things related to space-time continuum.  Like the ripple they found.    

At least I didn't think the car actually started going backwards at 250 mph.    That is clearly an important future milestone. 

The view out the windshield is impressive.

Tire life at these speeds freaks me out, I think it's measured in minutes.

I think they closed off 11 miles of highway, so at least that far.
