Hi eveyone.
I was changing valve springs a while back, and misplaced the retainers. Dammit..... I need to buy new retainers and locks now. Im unsure of what i had before. I bought them as a set from engle cams. For a solid lifter kv3/kv4. 575 lift in., 585 lift exh. The springs are part# 594/595. If i remember right, they were set at 1.950 ht. 125lb. Closed, around 325 open.  The springs are duel, 1.560 od. The inner spring was around .800 id. Thats about all i remember about them.  These are for a set of stage 6 heads. (not max wedge). 0.372 vavle stem.
Im not looking for titanium. Just good quality chrome moly steel that is fairly priced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is Engle out of business?  If not, go to them.

Maybe someone will know what works and they can respond.   If not, you will need to measure the OD of the outer, (probably 1.55"), and the ID of both the outer and inner, and find the retainer that has those dimensions slightly smaller the valve spring.

Hey, thanks for the info.
Do you know what is an acceptable tolerance when choosing a retainer? For example, the box says, springs are 1.560, they measure more like 1.508 - 1.510. And id. Of the outter spring is 1.128 - 1.130.
Inner spring od is 1.150. And .802 id.
Would a retainer measuring, 1.500od. And .800 inner spring id?
Thanks again.

There should be another step.  The inner spring has a larger od than the outer spring id?

I got a better measurement tool.  The average measurement of all springs is,
Outer springs average about, 1.510 od. And 1.127 id.

Inner spring is averaging, 1.108od., .802 id.
Thanks again.
