DBZ Charger

Hey all...been reading the boards for awhile now but never posted till now. I have a 73 Charger with a 318 in it. I have the chance to get a couple of 400 engines & other driveline goodies for a reasonable price. My questions are that the 400's are date coded 75 & 77...is there any reason why these years engines can't be made into a strong power plant ? I'm looking at stroking and some power add on & fuel injection. I'm just not sure if the later blocks have something that would make this not do-able. Also what else would need done in the swap ? I know the rear axle & k member need changed but not sure of things like torsion bars or anything else. Thanks for any info

Good read on blocks: http://www.440source.com/blockinfo.htm

According to that,  they can be stronger than an earlier 440.  Their stealth heads are well reviewed by members here, so I am "assuming" that is good info on blocks.  The engine builders on here can chime in on whether or not there are other shortcomings.  It will also depend on intended usage, power output and the full combination of your final planned setup.

Went to Englishtown Mopar weekend coupla weeks ago and talked with Tim Nist a bit. His 69 Cuda was fastest at 9.5. Later we visited the guy who built the motor and itsa 400. Here's the view f/ the cockpit

Only an ultrasonic thickness check will determine the block's usability.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
