It's a free country, but to say I'm just a little pissed would be an understatement.  I'm so sick of people bleeding about how much they really "want" a car and it's the love of their life and then they have it for 3 weeks and flip it.
For 28 years this car had only two owners who are still best friends for over 30 years.  And now it's getting whored around on ebay.  :flame:
I really wish someone on this site would have approached me on the car...

IMO....once you sell a car you give up all say in what happens to it. Why sell it at all if you are worried what the next owner does? When mine are gone...even ones I loved I try not to even think about them any more. Like you say its free country...

What Chris is saying is the buyer lied to him about how much he wanted the car, when he had intentions of flipping it from the get-go. I totally understand how Chris feels... I would feel the same. It's not the fact he is selling it... heck, a dealer would do just that, its the b.s. about wanting one for so long, then selling straight away for the $$.

perhaps, if you list it for $10 and the buyer hands you $10
do you feel the same way if it's someone you know, and you took $9 under the impression the car would be going to someone not out to make a dollar on it?

No! say it ain't true?  ....come on this is life, be it cars, car parts, houses, business, etc, etc, once you part with something you lose all control on it's destiny, perhaps the new owner is in a financial bind suddenly and the newest toy has to go?, perhaps he bought it without the old ladies "OK"? and it's now a case of the "car or me" syndrome, or perhaps the "freed up cash" the buyer used is now needed for a better vehicle or business deal?....

It's on Ebay for those, including the last owner to "rescue" if so desired from the clutches of the next "flipper"....my mantra is to never sell the processions that I cherish, that's for the courts or family members to do after my death

Ahhh ...so it's not that he sold it soon it's the fact that he had the ability to sell it for more than you did! No one made you accept his offer. It's a free market economy and that's what made you country what it is today. You sold it for what you wanted...so that's it as far as I'm concerned...and how I would think about it if I'd sold it. Buyers lie, sellers lie....we all know that. I've , how small we say "pushed the truth to the limit" on both occasions. Just move on....and make a better fist of selling the next one!
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you !!

I learned my lesson on this once too. If its something i dont really need to sell ect i put a price on it that i have no regrets on selling it. like a fair price plus 30%. If it sells so be it. if it does not thats fine too.

My dream car is a C500. maybe one day i can trade a restored 70 r/t for a rusty c500 project and do it all over again lol.

I would have loved to make you an offer on this car, but sadly it was out of my possible price range. I do hate it when people cut someone a deal on a car and then see it being flipped shortly after.
When I just bought the second 500 last week I assured the seller that I will under no circumstances be selling the car anytime soon. Don't plan to ever sell either 500. May trade up for Daytona but odds are that's 5-10 years off.

Hi Chris,

I've seen this happen hundreds of times over the years with Car-Dealers.
I have guys phoning me up looking for genuine buyers rather than sell to the 'devils children'.
Its the way it is, unfortunately with 'done cars', they are outta the price range of most Folks.
Then the 'done-cars' are traded around the 'trade circuit' until it goes outta fashion and/or needs some TLC and its back with an enthusiast again! :pity:
This is not just a top-end car problem, its right across the board.

There's a Ferengi in every walk of life trying to make a quick buck outta someone's 'pride and joy'... :brickwall:

I have refrained from doing it myself and have had many opportunities to flip a Mopar, but my conscience is clear (I think)... :scratchchin:
Until I sell my C500 after nearly fifteen years, so not really a flip, more a flop... :hah:

Who would want a 'messed-up' 69-R/T Charger, as my mate calls her?
Filled in back-light and a crappy Coronet grille, STUCK ON with screws and fixed headlights, how NAFF!!! ::)

NO pleasing some FOLKS... :eek2:

Thanks for that. I recall several people in the seventies -and even eighties -referring to the C500 as the "chepo" low-end model from their point of view -and at the time- they were not far off. :slap:
It was a change to a nice looking style and indeed was not intended to be an aesthetic improvement.

For example--I met a guy in a parking lot (late 70s) that had a nice RR and we chatted for a bit about chargers. He told me about a nice solid C500 that was in line to be cubed at an auto wrecking yard because it was one of the "cheep"/low end models.

Another C500 story.-- I pulled in to look at a 57 New Yorker that had a for sale sign on it. (I was driving my C500 and my guess it was 1982). A kid on a bicycle came up to me with enthusiasm to let me know that I had a special charger.  I thanked him but he insisted that I understand what he meant. I said that I indeed understood what my C500 was all about. He finally accepted that I knew my car and proceeded to tell me about a 69 hemi GTX that was in bushes down at the beach.(a hundred miles away from where we were).
My ears perked up and I quizzed him about it. He gave me enough information for me to seek it out the next weekend.
BTW this kid was an odd one. He was too young to drive so his finding this GTX was on his bike.

The next weekend I got on my motorcycle to follow the directions.  I came around the back road curve this kid told me about and spotted the tail light in the blackberries he mentioned.  It was indeed a 69 Hemi GTX complete without a motor. A B5 blue 4sp car with trans and dana in place. I tracked the owner as best I could but never connected properly. That car got away from me but I read about it a few years later as being a nice find in the blackberries. :nana:

OOps--sometimes one story leads to another.   BTW I bought that 57 New Yorker that the fire department wanted to buy for the engine. I sold them a 392 I had at home for their resto project of a vintage fire engine. And I got a complete fine running New Yorker. Some get away and some don't.  ;)

For sale another very rare Mopar from my high end collection of muscle cars, one of a few I will be selling on ebay over the next few weeks!  This particular car is a REAL DEAL FACTORY 1969 HEMI Charger 500, 4 speed that is matching numbers from front to back and even the original window sticker! I try to collect the rarest of the rare and bearing in mind that they only built 27 of these with a 4 speed and this one is a factory double green car It could actually be the fabled unicorn 1 of 1? Obviously a historically important muscle car that's a must for any high end collector and not a cheap car, but a proper car that deserves to, and will make good money.

Highlights include

Superb Numbers matching 426 engine and the quietest Hemi I have ever heard too!
Under 74,000 miles from new and everything is original
One of just 27 Hemi 500 with a 4 speed built
Superb body
Nice older paint with no rust or bubbles
Original specs throughout
Nice interior
Original 4 speed
Original totally untouched  RUSTFREE  floors, frame rails, jacking points and trunk floor etc,etc
Original color and specs
Original window sticker
Never crashed
Drives and looks very nice
Superb muffler sound
Clear title in my name

It's hard to sell my babies, but I am going to rotate my whole collection, so many more will be coming on eBay soon. If you have questions or would like a walk round video of this amazing car, please tel or text me at 407 729 6957.  Thank you Mark

Kids on bicycles and folks walking dogs, its amazing what they find...

Jules Rimet trophy comes to mind lol...Thank God for PICKLES, especially Branston... :scratchchin:

Did I tell you how I found my C500?

Well its sad and happy all at the same time...
A guy in LA was living in his 428 Cobra-Jet convertible in a parking lot, he had built his son a very fast Dart but he unfortunately died whilst driving it.
So how did he end up living in his car?
His good wife never forgave him for building the Dart as their son would still be alive, if he hadn't have done it!
So no amount of reasoning would convince her that it may have happened anyway, in a different car on a different day...

So he could take no more and left her for the sun of LA, with time to sit and think of 'if only's'.
God saw this poor man and sent a shepherd to help him in his time of grief and sadness.
Shepherd-Tom gave him a job in his wonderful shop and gave him a lovely RV to live in on his own plot.
All was well for him now and I chanced upon them both, when visiting his lovely LA engine shop.
They understood our love of all things Mopar a told us of another Mopar disciple with many Mopars!
He was from the OLD country like me and had a love of all things Nascarian.
So after a very quick intro he showed us his treasured collection of Mopar cars.

As you always do when finding a brace of C500's, you say '' if you ever want to sell one I would be interested'', especially if its a four-speed.
Yep, God has worked his wonder yet again and I got my dream car!
