 Figured out it's an AUSCO brand 1.5 ton, model D-7400. Now, need to find one!
The pic from the 1969 catalog shows the unique shape of the frame.
I'd think the blue was the original color.
They cost $132.75, brand new. That was a lot in 1969 money.   Still a lot, compared to imported jacks today.

Ausco means - Auto Specialties Manufacturing Co.  They were out of St. Joseph, Michigan

The car number 093 is written on the tire.    What are the other markings?    Do they relate to a set or specific run number?

I'd think in previous duty, the tire was part of a test run.  Now, only a lowly roller, but extending the duty cycle of the tire.
The wheel didn't win any prizes for cosmetics.

I don't have to research anything to get it back to a specific day in it's life.   Not been modified by it's previous owner, either!

When I found it, I explained to the owner about the vintage photo posted above - my car with the same jack under it.
We came to terms and the largest cost, by far, was the crating and shipping - total weight was 108#, with 90 being the jack itself.
Nice thing was that it had a lot of use, so it doesn't leak.  Let's see a jack built today last 50 years!

I believe this jack was chosen because it was made in Windsor, Canada, 15 minutes away from Chrysler Engineering in Highland Park, MI.  Probably an open req. with AUSCO. They wanted something sturdy that would be trouble free.  Never used for fast pit stops! 

I think every race team used whatever jack they felt was best for them.  (I'd say a lighter one would be helpful.)

Perhaps this can turn into the "Race Jack" thread?

That's the little 68# , 1.25 T jack. (D-6200)
In the 60's they built another assy. plant in Windsor, Ontario.
Their engineering was still done in St. Joseph, MI.

The D-7400 started off in 1966, per the info I got from the current US Jack Company.
They were nice enough to send me specs and a parts list for the old D-7400 1.5 T jack.

The jack in this photo LOOKS LIKE THE ONE UNDER THE 88 !

Petty painted a lot of their stuff blue to keep the other teams guessing the make/model of their equipment!

Still works years later when us wingnuts are looking at jacks!   

I can say 100% it was not the #88 jack.
They were still using it at the WWG. 

What we need to do it to start identifying the jacks under the various MoPars...

I have a jack very similar to the one at the bottom of that picture... I think the only difference is instead of having the solid piece that goes under the bumper, mine has an adjustable chain with a piece that goes under the bumper... I think it's still around here somewhere.

One like it. I think the original went to the Pettys at the end of 1970, when the WWG was disbanded.
